NEW YORK – UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was killed in a taking pictures Wednesday morning outdoors a lodge in Midtown, Manhattan, the NYPD says.

A spokesperson for UnitedHealthcare instructed CBS News the taking pictures happened in the course of the firm’s buyers convention.

The taking pictures occurred shortly earlier than 6:45 a.m. outdoors the Hilton Midtown lodge on Sixth Avenue close to West 54th Street. More than a dozen officers responded and blocked off West 54th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues for the morning commute. 

“We are deeply saddened by this morning’s occasions within the space and our ideas are with all affected by the tragedy,” a spokesperson for the lodge stated in an announcement.
