Asteroid to make “shut move” close to Earth subsequent month


(WHTM) — An asteroid is anticipated to make a “shut move” to Earth subsequent month.

In October, NASA confirmed that the asteroid, dubbed 2024 PT5, was first noticed in August by the Sutherland, South Africa telescope of the University of Hawai’i’s Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS). and is estimated to be about 33 toes broad.

The asteroid, estimated to be about 33 toes broad, is suspected to be a “massive chunk of rock ejected from the Moon’s floor after an asteroid impression way back.”

NASA says the asteroid “doesn’t pose a hazard to Earth” however they plan to trace it with planetary radar when it makes its subsequent shut move in January 2025.

However, the asteroid will “linger as a distant companion to our planet for just a few months” about 9 instances farther from Earth than the moon and won’t be captured by the Earth’s gravity.
