Someone wager $3.1 million on the Eagles to beat the Panthers, at -700 odds

It have to be boring to be wealthy.

Someone with cash to burn has wagered $3.1 million on the Eagles to beat the Panthers on Sunday. Via ESPN.com, the bettor in Kentucky positioned the beat at Circa Sports, at -700 odds.

That means the bettor is wagering $700 to win $100.

In this case, a Philly win would end in roughly $442,800.

The wager prompted the sports activities guide to maneuver the percentages to -870. And it pushed Panthers odds to +650.

“I instructed my guys within the danger room to go to work and get some buyback on the Panthers,” Circa Sports proprietor Derek Stevens instructed ESPN.com on Friday. “With us being in 5 states now, we should always have the liquidity to get sufficient buyback to the place we find yourself needing the Eagles.”

Even if the Eagles win, as they need to, is it price spending three hours worrying about dropping $3.1 million? And for what?

If the individual can put up $3.1 million, what’s $442,800?

Hopefully the wager was made by somebody who is actually wealthy, and never somebody who thinks it’s simple cash. There’s no such factor. Over time, all of it evens out.

Over time, the sports activities books win. And if anybody cracks the code on methods to constantly beat the sports activities books, the sports activities books cease letting them wager.
