Allu Arjun is freed on bail after spending an evening in jail in a stampede case


NEW DELHI (AP) — A well-liked actor in southern India was launched from jail on bail on Saturday, a day after he was arrested by police in reference to a stampede that led to the loss of life of a girl on the premiere of his film earlier this month.

A 35-year-old girl died and her 8-year-old son was critically injured within the stampede, which occurred in the course of the screening of Allu Arjun’s launch for “Pushpa 2: The Rule” in southern Telangana state’s Hyderabad metropolis on Dec. 4.
