Prince William’s equerry drops Royal bombshell: Why he stepped down



Prince William’s equerry, Commander Rob Dixon, has bid an emotional farewell as he steps down from his royal position after 4 years of devoted service. 

Dixon, who has accompanied the Prince and Princess of Wales to main royal occasions together with the King’s Coronation and the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, has been a continuing presence of their public life.

As equerry, Dixon’s duties concerned supporting the couple at public engagements and providing help at any time when wanted. 

The position is historically held by a senior member of the armed forces for a three-year time period, however he prolonged his service, having fun with a detailed working relationship with the longer term King and Queen.

He wrote, “I’ve had probably the most unbelievable alternative to serve in a job that not solely challenged me, however allowed me to develop, to study, and to make significant contributions alongside a proficient and passionate workforce. 

I’m immensely grateful for the help, collaboration, and friendships shaped throughout these final 4 years.”

Dixon continued, “It’s now time to swap the highest hat and tails for ‘day by day working rig’ as soon as once more, and it’s the suitable factor to do.” 

His successor, Squadron Leader Mike Reynolds, will take over the position on secondment from the Royal Air Force, persevering with the close-knit help for the royal couple.
