Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams and her fellow crew members have revealed how they may mark Thanksgiving while aboard the International Space Station.
The crew will partake in a specifically ready feast that includes smoked turkey, Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, and spiced apples. This celebration upholds a long-standing customized of astronauts observing the vacation while in orbit, strengthening bonds and preserving traditions regardless of being away from Earth.
Nasa launched footage on Wednesday displaying Williams and her colleagues discussing their vacation preparations, together with their scheduled actions and deliberate meals.

Space Station Astronauts Deliver a Thanksgiving Message for 2024

The footage captures Williams delivering a heartfelt message: “Greetings from the International Space Station. Our crew needs to say a cheerful Thanksgiving to our buddies, household, and everybody down on Earth supporting us.” Her colleague detailed their particular space-appropriate menu, comprising smoked turkey, Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, apples, and spice. “It’s going to be scrumptious,” they remarked cheerfully.
Since June 5, Sunita and Barry “Butch” Wilmore have been stationed in house. Their project, initially deliberate for eight days, has been lengthened till February 2024. Despite being separated from their households, the crew maintains their vacation enthusiasm.
