Black gap paradox that stumped Stephen Hawking could have an answer, new paper claims

Nothing is meant to flee a black gap’s occasion horizon — but new analysis suggests it might secretly leak info. That leakage would seem in refined signatures in gravitational waves, and now we all know the way to search for them, the research authors say.

In 1976, Stephen Hawking rocked the astrophysics world along with his discovery that black holes aren’t solely black. Instead, they emit tiny quantities of radiation and, given sufficient time, can provide off a lot that they disappear solely. But this launched an enormous downside. Information flows into black holes as they devour matter, and that info cannot escape. But Hawking radiation does not carry any info with it. So what occurs to it when the black gap disappears?
