Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., insisted on Sunday there might be “bipartisan cooperation” to root out government inefficiency with SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.
ABC’s “This Week” host Martha Raddatz requested the Democratic lawmaker about latest discussions with Musk over President-elect Donald Trump’s push to chop authorities spending.
Although it stays a largely a Republican endeavor, Khanna was optimistic about working with Musk to deal with wasteful spending.

“Well, there’s one space. Elon Musk was good in that he labored with President Obama and Ash Carter to have Space X and that disrupted Boeing and Lockheed. We had been getting ripped off, the American folks, and placing satellites as much as house. And President Obama, below his management, Ash Carter’s management, they stated, Elon, with Space X, you’ll be able to bid on launching these rockets. He had reusable rockets that—” Khanna stated.
“Now go to your dialog with him,” Raddatz interrupted.
He continued, “Well, we’ve talked about that. And I made the case to him that Tesla and SpaceX have been funded by the Obama authorities and let’s have a task for presidency. But let’s take a look at what you probably did with Space X. Why can’t we try this with different elements of the 5 primes to scale back prices? I feel on the subject of protection, getting higher protection for worth and slicing prices, there might be large bipartisan cooperation.”
Musk and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy at present co-lead DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency), which is not a proper authorities division, and have been assembly with several Republican Senate and House members over methods to slash spending.
