Israel to shut embassy in Ireland over ‘anti-Israel’ insurance policies


Israel will shut its embassy in Dublin over “the intense anti-Israel insurance policies of the Irish authorities”, its overseas minister has stated.

Gideon Saar stated the Republic of Ireland had crossed “each pink line”.

In a press release, he stated Israel’s ambassador to Dublin had been recalled previously following what it referred to as Ireland’s “unilateral resolution to recognise a Palestinian state”.

He added that the choice adopted Ireland’s announcement of its help for South Africa’s authorized motion in opposition to Israel within the International Court of Justice (ICJ), accusing the nation of “genocide”.

Mr Saar stated: “The actions and anti-semitic rhetoric utilized by Ireland in opposition to Israel are rooted within the de-legitimisation and demonisation of the Jewish state, together with double requirements.
