Israel Vazquez, three-time world champion boxer, dies at 46


Israel Vazquez, Mexico’s three-time junior featherweight world champion, has died after a battle with most cancers, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman mentioned Tuesday. He was 46.

Known for his punching energy and hand pace, Vazquez was one among Mexico’s most celebrated boxers and shared a rivalry with compatriot Rafael Marquez, whom he confronted 4 instances.
