Israeli official reveals how ‘to really defeat Hezbollah’

An Israeli official stated on Sunday that the return of regular civilian life in northern Israel alongside the border with Lebanon is the best way “to really defeat Hezbollah.” 

“In order to really defeat Hezbollah—as a result of militarily, now we have already received, and our victory may be very clear—to really win, to realize long-term victory, is to have many residents dwelling right here (northern Israel), huge tourism, to reopen the eating places and cafes that was right here, to have individuals coming to cycle, agriculture flourishing—every little thing thriving,” Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, stated whereas visiting southern Lebanon. 

“This is a long-term victory. And the state should step in and strongly reinforce this duty,” he added. 

Fox News confirmed that Halevi had performed a situational evaluation on Sunday in southern Lebanon with the Commanding Officer of the Northern Command, MG Ori Gordin; the Commanding Officer of the 146th Division, BG Yiftach Norkin; the Commanding Officer of the three hundredth Brigade, COL Omri Rosenkrantz; and different senior officers.

A cease-fire deal between Israel and the Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah in Lebanon has held for a month as of Friday.

Since the 60-day settlement went into impact on Nov. 27, Israeli forces have been conducting operations in southern Lebanon that they are saying are supposed to dismantle terror tunnels and Hezbollah’s command heart.

According to the New York Times, Israeli forces have continued strikes because the cease-fire deal has held, principally in southern Lebanon however now, as of days in the past, additionally within the jap Bekaa area.
