The frantic seek for a Norwegian Cruise Line passenger who went overboard has been known as off.
A spokesperson for the cruise line confirmed to Fox News Digital that the 51-year-old went overboard from Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Epic late Thursday afternoon.
The incident was first famous at roughly 3 p.m. as Norwegian Epic was crusing from Ocho Rios, Jamaica en path to Great Stirrup Cay within the Bahamas.
The passenger was on the cruise together with his household, the spokesperson mentioned. The cruise left from Port Canaveral, Florida on Saturday, Dec. 21 and was a seven-night Western Caribbean voyage.

The cruise line said that authorities had been shortly notified and search and rescue efforts had been instantly carried out.

“After an intensive search that was sadly unsuccessful, the ship was launched by the authorities to proceed its voyage,” the spokesperson mentioned.
Norwegian Cruise Line mentioned the passenger’s family members on board had been “being attended to and supported throughout this very difficult state of affairs.”
“Our ideas and prayers are together with his family members throughout this troublesome time,” the spokesperson added.

The Norwegian Epic, which was in-built 2010 and refurbished in 2020, has 19 decks. It can accommodate 4,070 passengers with double occupancy of its cabins and has 1,724 crew members.
It was not instantly clear what brought on the person to go overboard. The man has not been recognized.
