Ravens’ Michael Pierce explains why he prevented likelihood at returning interception for landing

Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Michael Pierce intercepted the primary move of his profession on Saturday within the group’s dominating win over the Cleveland Browns.

Pierce’s interception of Bailey Zappe ended the sport for good. Pierce caught the move and appeared like he had a niche if he wished to try to return it for a landing. But after operating six yards, the 355-pound participant gave himself up with a slide and celebrated as an alternative.

Pierce was requested why he didn’t return the ball.

“There’s a protracted historical past of turning big-guy interceptions and fumbles and all that stuff into memes,” he stated, via NFL.com. “At the chance of ruining a profession play like that for myself, it is time to go house. So, the bus was out of fuel. We’re good.”

Pierce joined the Ravens in 2016 as an undrafted free agent. He turned a starter in 2017 and performed one season with the Minnesota Vikings in 2021 earlier than he returned to the Ravens. Saturday’s recreation was the 99th of his profession.
