Silent on arrival: LA Mayor Karen Bass refuses to reply questions for absence as wildfires ravage metropolis

An expressionless Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass refused to reply reporters’ questions after being pressed on her preliminary absence as wildfires raged throughout her jurisdiction. 

“Do you owe residents an apology for being absent whereas their properties have been burning? And do you remorse reducing the Fire Department finances by tens of millions of {dollars}, Madame Mayor?” Sky News reporter David Blevins asked as Bass waited to deplane Wednesday following her journey to Ghana. 

“Have you completely nothing to say to the residents immediately?” he added.

Bass refused to acknowledge the reporter, persevering with to disregard questions as she appeared on the floor.

“No apology to them? Do you assume you need to have been visiting Ghana whereas this was unfolding again dwelling?” he stated. 

“Madam mayor, let me ask you simply once more, have you ever something to say to the residents immediately as you come back?” he stated.

On Wednesday, throughout a late-afternoon information convention in Los Angeles, Bass stated that she took the “quickest route again,” including that she used a military plane for her speedy arrival.

Bass’ arrival on the scene comes as wildfires proceed to rage in Los Angeles County, leaving a whole lot of hundreds of residents underneath evacuation orders.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna advised Fox News that 5 individuals have been killed within the Eaton Fire, as of Wednesday afternoon.
