WW3 fears explode as Vladimir Putin threatens to show Kyiv ‘into mud’ in new grim menace | World | News

The Russian President has issued one other stark warning to Ukraine, promising that if President Zelensky sanctions using extra US and UK-built long-range missiles, the Kremlin will retaliate.

Vladimir Putin has threatened Kyiv with Oreshnik missile strikes if Ukraine makes use of its new rockets on Russian targets once more.

This comes after Ukraine fired a burst of US-made ATACMS missiles and UK-made Storm Shadow missiles at Russia final week.

Putin advised a press convention within the Kazakh capital of Astana that Russia was reacting to “ongoing strikes on Russian territory with long-range Western-made missiles”.

Chillingly, he threatened: “The Defence Ministry and General Staff are choosing targets. These could embody decision-making centres in Kyiv, army services and defence business enterprises.

“It will likely be as much as us to decide on the technique of destruction, together with attainable continuation of Oreshnik assessments in fight circumstances.

“The temperature of the placing parts reaches 4,000 levels. Everything on the epicentre of the [Oreshnik] blasts disintegrates into fractions and elementary particles. Essentially, it turns to mud.”

In the final two days, Moscow has launched 100 missiles and 466 drones at Ukraine. Both Ukraine and Russia has confirmed the figures.

Sir Keir Starmer branded the strikes and threats “wicked”.

The PM spoke to President Zelensky on November 29 and pledged to place the nation “in the absolute best place forward of one other difficult winter of battle”.
