A person who died in what’s now Germany about 1,800 years in the past went to his grave sporting a spiritual amulet round his neck which will change what we all know in regards to the unfold of Christianity, stories Live Science. Details:

  • Archaeologists discovered the 1.4-inch-long amulet on a skeleton in a cemetery close to modern-day Frankfurt, stories CNN. At the time the person died between 230 AD and 270 AD, the area was a part of the Roman Empire.
  • Researchers discovered a skinny silver scroll contained in the amulet that had a Latin inscription with a number of references to Jesus and the Bible—making it the oldest Christian artifact ever found north of the Alps, per Smithsonian. It predates any such earlier discovery by at the least 50 years.
