Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Sunday stated billionaire Elon Musk’s criticism of the nation’s try and restrict social media use was meant to push his personal agenda as proprietor of X, previously Twitter.
This comes after Australia accepted a ban on use of social media for youngsters underneath 16 years of age with no exemptions for parental consent or preexisting accounts. “With regard to Elon Musk, he has an agenda. He’s entitled to push that because the proprietor of X, previously often called Twitter,” Albanese stated.
When the interviewer added that Musk is near US President-elect Donald Trump, Albanese stated, “We will have interaction, we are going to have interaction.”
Musk – who has been named Donald Trump’s authorities effectivity chief within the incoming US administration – posted on X final month that the regulation “looks like a backdoor solution to management entry to the Internet by all Australians.”
