Horned dinosaurs noticed a decline of their intelligence, listening to and sense of odor as they grew bigger over the course of 100 million years, in line with a examine by researchers in China and the United States.

“The sense of odor in early-diverging ceratopsians is extra delicate than in Protoceratops [a Late Cretaceous dinosaur in Asia] and late-diverging ceratopsids.
“Early-diverging ceratopsians had greater listening to frequencies than ceratopsids and non-avian theropods,” the researchers wrote in an article printed within the peer-reviewed journal Paleobiology in October.
“The early horned dinosaurs bear comparatively giant mind volumes, even greater than most extant reptiles.”
The scientists defined that whereas these capabilities helped the dinosaurs escape their predators once they had been smaller, as they grew bigger, they turned much less helpful.
