President-elect Donald Trump says he’ll attend Jimmy Carter’s funeral

President-elect Donald Trump mentioned he would attend subsequent week’s state funeral for Jimmy Carter, the previous U.S. president who died on Sunday on the age of 100, and predicted that solely House Speaker Mike Johnson might win the vote for the House’s high job.

As Trump entered a New Year’s Eve Party at his Mar-a-Lago house in Florida on Tuesday, he was requested by a reporter whether or not he deliberate to be available for Carter’s funeral on the National Cathedral on Jan. 9 in Washington, D.C..

“I do. I’ll be there. We have been invited,” Trump mentioned, declining to say whether or not he had spoken with any of Carter’s members of the family since his loss of life.

At the black tie gala attended by billionaire tech CEO Elon Musk, Senator Ted Cruz and different supporters, Trump was additionally requested what message he had for Republicans who haven’t adopted his lead and backed House Speaker Johnson’s re-election bid.
