NEW ORLEANS — The Saints plan to begin Jake Haener towards the Washington Commanders if beginning quarterback Derek Carr is dominated out, sources confirmed to ESPN on Thursday.
Haener can be making his first profession begin.
Carr is within the concussion protocol and fractured his non-throwing hand whereas making an attempt to leap for a primary down in a win towards the New York Giants on Sunday.
If Carr doesn’t play, it might be the fourth recreation he has missed this season. He missed three video games due to an indirect harm, and rookie Spencer Rattler began in his place.
Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi mentioned Wednesday that he needed to see each backups compete earlier than he decided on a starter.
