Lionsgate’s Trey Edward Shults directed and written suspense thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow starring The Weeknd in his huge display debut, Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan, is getting a launch date of May 16.

The film starring the Grammy profitable and Oscar and Emmy nominated recording celebrity is timed with the debut of his new album and tour.

Hurry Up Tomorrow is impressed by and that includes new music from The Weeknd. The challenge additionally reps the conclusion to The Weeknd’s inventive trilogy, finishing the journey that started with “After Hours” and “Dawn FM.”

The film is produced by The Weeknd’s Manic Phase and Reza Fahimalong with the late Kevin Turen and HarrisonKreiss.  EPs are Jenna Ortega, TreyEdward Shults, Michael Rapino, Ryan Kroft, Wassim “Sal” Slaiby, and Harrison Huffman. The filmmaking crew is rounded out by director of pictures Chayse Irvin, ASC, CSC, manufacturing designer Elliott Hostetter, costume designers Erin Benach and Hannah Jacobs, and music by The Weeknd and Daniel Lopatin. 

Shults’ canon contains earlier A24 titles Waves, the psychological horror, It Comes At Night and his characteristic directorial debut Krisha.. That emotionally charged drama sparked his profession and received a number of awards together with the National Board of Review’s Best Directorial Debut, The Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award, The Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award on the Gothams, and each the Grand Jury Award and Audience Award at SXSW.

Hurry Up Tomorrow joins New Line’s horror film, Final Destination: Bloodlines on May 16 subsequent 12 months. Disney Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* kicks off summer season on May 2, adopted by Universal’s Golden and Sony’s Margot Robbie, Lily Rabe and Colin Farrell film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey on May 9.
