Chad Chronister, President-elect Donald Trump’s choose to guide the Drug Enforcement Administration, stated Tuesday that he would withdraw his title from consideration for the put up.
Chronister, who serves as sheriff in Hillsborough County, Florida, introduced his plans to show down the nomination in a post on X on Tuesday night.
“To have been nominated by President-Elect @realDonaldTrump to function Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration is the honour of a lifetime,” Chronister wrote. “Over the previous a number of days, because the gravity of this essential duty set in, I’ve concluded that I have to respectfully withdraw from consideration.”
Chronister cited ongoing work that is wanted in serving the folks of Hillsborough County “and a number of initiatives I’m dedicated to fulfilling.”
Trump introduced his intention to appoint Chronister to function the following DEA administrator on Saturday.
